Lack of urgency and bad referrals

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

To be short and to the point. Dr Earley's lack of urgency in regards to discovering a Lesion, coupled with bad referral's from Intermountain, has resulted in the delay in getting a CT Biopsy to find out what is on my Lung, has delayed my condition a month, at this point.

The people who I was supposed to get the referrals from to schedule test, had no clue how to get me a place to go to. Asking me to call a hospital.

I am changing Insurer and Doctors on Jan 1. i live in a depressed state and frightened that this is a malignancy. It is not only the Doctors attitude, but the organization having no alternative to offer.

What kind of care is this! WTF!

Billing/rude customer service.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My doctor is in network for my insurance and drew blood for some tests in his office, but billing billed it as hospital outpatient which is not covered so I called billing to find out why, the girl just said that they would look at it, I asked if I could speak with a manager and I was told that they are all busy and don't have time to speak to anyone. It's been over a week and I haven't heard back, but I did receive notice again that the bill is due.

Returned hearing aid, requested refund

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Have not received refund over one month . A ideology tried to sell over priced hearing aid that was not functional. Returned merchandise and was not instructed any else concerning refund needed to be done. I found out 3 days later that I was expected to notify inter mountain billing, which I did via phone. I was told refund would go back on card. Waited one week, no refund, made more phone calls, and notified IHC advocate. More on calls discovered that refund could not be back on card. They would send check. Check has not arrived. It has been 1 month and 5 days since hearing aid was returned.

User's recommendation: Do not do business with IHC Audiology, they will try to sell you higher priced merchandise and not explain any return options. Billing is outsourced to a Seattle company which was described in a Salt Lake newspaper as non reputable.

Horrible Horrible Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If I could give zero stars, I would. The last 2 months have been pure *** dealing with them.

Yesterday I switched back to my old PCP as I can no longer handle the constant issues caused by this company. Dr's that are in my Anthem network refuse to accept them because they are so difficult to deal with. My Dr's assistant refuses to respond to messages via the portal system, so she spends a week trying to reach you by phone, calling at 7pmthenn leaves for the night. After a week of going back & forth & leaving messages in the portal, I receive a letter being gaslit saying I'm needing to update my contact info since I can't be reached.

Someone in customer service said this is common. Additionally, they have the so-called customer service # that is available 24/7 but is useless 2 months in & I still don't have approved referrals. One referral they took 4 weeks to do I go see that specialist & after my appointment I'm told that they don't accept my anthem insurance because she isn't part of the "Intermountain Network" not sure what they did in the referral department for 4 weeks since they sent it over as if it was approved. Pretty much every department I have encountered has been 100% incompetent.

I now have PTSD from this experience, I've lost 2 months of time and got nowhere. Also, Intermountain insurance billing is a nightmare because Anthem "denies" payment via their portal, and it has to be handled specially behind the scenes. So you never see actual proof that your bill was paid. You try to reach upper management at their corporate offices & they never call you back.

I reached out to them 2 weeks ago. I guess it's back to subpar care that my old PCP provided who thinks my ovaries are up by my belly button, but at least I don't have to deal with poor communication and billing nightmares while them trying to gaslight me as if I am the problem. Fortunately, my Insurance to my old PCP was backdated, so my bill with the specialist should be paid. What a nightmare experience this company has caused me.

They need to send a manual to all their "clients" so they can state that the portal is there for looks & not actual correspondence. You can never speak with people you need to. The referral department is inconsistent & will tell you that provider x doesn't take your insurance, so we had to find another provider yet a completely different provider they say takes your insurance, and they actually don't. The warning flag should have gone off when I received a message from a specialist that received a referral that they refused to accept it since it came from Intermountain.

That would have saved me a month of unnecessary trauma had I known than what I know now. My husband is aware that if I die to sue this company for their company as dealing with them is a hard pass.

Incompetence

Original review Jun 14, 2023
Among other issues with Intermountain, they use ShareCare, which is an incompetent, disrespectful, International, non-English-speaking group of individuals who cannot even so much as deliver your medical records. Why is this important? If you ever want your medical records, you have to go through ShareCare. You wouldn't want US-based customer service would you? No? Well then use Intermountain and prepare to suffer the torture at the hands of ShareCare.

I called his office every day for 5 days and no one ever got back to me. I wanted to be started on Paxlovid which has to be started before the 5th day. This is not acceptable. What should I do? IHC customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have been trying to resolve an issue with a claim through the VA Community Care program. I just go around in circles trying to explain to these incompetent people that they are using the wrong authorization code.

They say they don't have the correct code, yet they have filed other claims which have gone through just fine. It is not rocket science, as all they need to do is file the claim using the same code from these other claims. The customer service rep would just talk right through me and not listen when i tried saying something. I just wanted to say: shutup and quit talking.

I would have to raise my voice as she babbled along. Plus, they owe me $80 from a visit that both the insurance company and I paid them.

Double paid. Very very frustrating to speak with the billing customer service, as last time I called, it wasn't much better of an interaction.
